THE EARLY YEARS
The South Wales Talking Magazine Association, founded in
1971 and based in Cardiff, is run entirely by volunteers and
was one of the first organisations formed in the UK to
provide this type of service.
Jack Treeby, who was visually impaired, realised that news
and information recorded onto tape would greatly help the
blind and partially sighted keep in touch with events in their
